Runner Up - Cardinal's
After a three year wait Blinco's regains the Championship
crown for Raleigh and the USFFL in 2007. Wrightsville Beach
had won the title in 2004, 2005 and 2006 when the Hurricanes
(twice) and Capt. Bills (once) captured titles. The surprise
was last minute entry Cardinal's who knocked out past
champion Hurricanes to play Blinco's in title game ... more

Can the Cardinal's
win a third straight State title? Not if the Dirty Devils
have a say! But wait, there's plenty more that are in line
to challenge the powerhouse 8 man contact team. Dade with a
3 and 0 record play the Dirty Devils Sunday the 28th in a
game that might just signal a new powerhouse on the block.

Hall
of Fame'er suits up for Outsiders game ...
The coach of the Cardinal's looked around Sunday for a QB
and couldn't find one ... so he did what any member of the
National Flag Football "Hall of Fame" would do ... he suited
up. With regular QB Tim Kilpatrick and backup Calvin Cole
missing, Langdon directed the Cardinal's on three scoring
drives and the 18 to 2 win. "It wasn't pretty" ... Langdon
said after the game, "But a win is a win" ... Langdon had
not played in a regular season 8 man contact game since
2006. A lot of people were on the side line to see the game
and Langdon noted that several had rolls of "Duct tape"
ready in case a knee went out.

Shots fired at pick up flag
football game in Alaska ...
Players in a flag football game in Anchorage,
Alaska, began firing shots after an argument during
one of the plays. One player was seriously injured.
Players and spectators scrambled for the exits, even
climbing a chain link fence to get out of the
open-air Anchorage Football Stadium.
Witnesses say they thought at least 50 shots were
fired during the game Sunday night. Police suspect
there were multiple shooters.
Officials say play in the pickup game became
especially tense late in the match. There was an
argument, which turned into a disturbance, then
somebody pulled out a gun and started firing into
the crowd.
Police say the man who was injured played in the
game but was not involved in the scuffle.
