REDSKINS PATRICK RAMSEY AND CHRIS SAMUELS JOIN OWNER DANIEL M. SNYDER AND WASHINGTON POST COMPANY CHAIRMAN & CEO DONALD GRAHAM TO DEDICATE NEW FOOTBALL FIELD AT CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

Newly Renovated Football Field Funded by Partnership Between the Washington Redskins Leadership Council, The Washington Post and the Philip L. Graham Fund

Capitol Heights, MD- Redskins QB Patrick Ramsey and T Chris Samuels joined Redskins Owner Daniel Snyder and Washington Post Company Chairman and CEO Donald Graham on September 30, to dedicate the newly renovated football field at Central High School.

Central High School is located at 200 Cabin Branch Road in Capitol Heights, Maryland.

After the field dedication, Ramsey and Samuels christened the new and improved football field by hosting a football clinic with members of the Central High School football team.

The Central football field renovation project was funded by a partnership between the Washington Redskins Leadership Council, the Washington Post and the Philip L. Graham Fund. The field has been completely leveled and seeded with Bermuda grass, the same playing surface used at FedEx Field, and a new irrigation system has been installed.

Central High School is one of many schools selected to participate in the Redskins Youth Development Program. The program helps area high school athletes both on and off the field by renovating high school football fields and placing academic coaches in schools to help student-athletes focus on academics. The first academic coach was placed last year at Anacostia High School and this year an additional academic coach will be placed at Dunbar High School.

USA Football (www.usafootball.com) is an independent non-profit organization that was launched with a grant from the NFL Youth Football Fund in December 2002. It is the first national advocacy group created to galvanize, support, and promote the sport of amateur football and its invaluable lessons for all boys and girls. Jack Kemp, former Congressman and quarterback who led the Buffalo Bills to the 1964 and 1965 American Football League Championship, serves as chairman. Dave Ogrean, a former executive of the College Football Association and USA Hockey during his 25-year career in the sports industry, serves as executive director.

Beyond the Playing Field-Teaching the Skills of Life
There is no denying the influence coaches have on the lives of young players. One kind word of encouragement or harsh word of criticism can have a lifetime effect. Good football coaches teach players lessons that go far beyond tackling, throwing, blocking, and catching. They teach life lessons, including how to deal with adversity, developing a strong work ethic, learning the value of teamwork, and character building.
